Run Lola Run is just a film that cries out to be parodied. It's nice to see how cognizant of the fact the It's Walky! team was in making this. It's attention to little details I like, from the timing of the music to the zoom-in on the D in the title.

Production-value wise, there's nothing much to speak of. The video camera is cheap and the sound is difficult to hear. The animated sequences are not too well-done.

The camera use, however, is as dynamic and bold as that of Run Lola Run itself—no small compliment, given the source material. It's a shame that the Web compression renders the film choppy and annoying and nearly unwatchable.

But what this film really succeeds in is what's important—the jokes. The Taco Bell monologue is oddly quotable. The falling phone gag had me laughing out loud. The elevator music was a funny jab at the original film's incessant techno score that plays out in a way I'd never have thought of.

A lot of the source film is just Lola running, and during this portion, the filmmakers choose to let the music play and let their red-headed hero Steve just run.

This film succeeds on its own terms from sheer weirdness. Even if you haven't seen Run Lola Run there is still something to laugh at just because a spoof of a strange movie makes for a stranger movie. And that's not bad at all.

Oh, and the Kermit the Frog scene is a lot of fun.
